Jameson Williams, Alabama’s star wide receiver, suffered an apparent knee injury in the second quarter of the national title game.
Williams caught a pass from quarterback Bryce Young but spun awkwardly before going to the ground. He immediately grabbed his left knee.
He was helped off the field and went into the medical tent on Alabama’s sideline. A few minutes later, he walked to the Alabama locker room under his own power.
Williams, who transferred to Alabama from Ohio State, had over 1,500 receiving yards this season and 15 touchdowns.
He had four catches for 65 yards before he exited the game.
